  • Primarily interested in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds using environmentally benign reagents /catalysts /conditions.
  • Study of Multi Component Reactions with specific area of focus on nitrogen heterocycles.

  • Topics taught at the UG level: General treatment of reaction mechanisms, reaction thermodynamics and kinetics; Organic acids and bases; MOT and its applications; Carbonyl Chemistry, conjugate additions; Disconnection approach, protection-deprotection strategies; Asymmetric synthesis (Felkin-Anh model); Heterocyclic Chemistry; Analytical Clinical Biochemistry; Pharmaceutical Chemistry (including Fermentation); Green Chemistry; Water treatment technologies and basic laboratory practices.
  • Supervision of UG dissertation in the field of Organic Chemistry
