    EXTENSION ACTIVITIES  
   


Students participated in NSS activities in college.
First year students were enthusiastically engaged in the making of Departmental Wall Magazine.

Ankita Bhowmik, Tania Roy and Soumita Chakraborty of the then first year attended the Seminar and participated in the Poster Competition on 03.02.2012, organized by Lady Brabourne College to celebrate the international Year of Chemistry.

Anamika Ghosh, Namrata Ghosh and Dyuti Bandyopadhyay of first year (session 2011-12) participated in the quiz competition ‘Brain Fever’ organized by Research Scholars’ Association of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Jadavpur on 30.03.2012.

Dipika Pan, Saborni Biswas and Tania Kundu of third year (2013 batch) participated in the Quiz Competition organized by Bose Institute during Dipta Memorial Symposium, held on 28.09.2012.

Apabrita Mallick, Tania Kundu and Snigdha Sarkar, all of third year (2013 batch) participated in ‘Chemiquiz’ organized by the Chemistry Department of Presidency University on 21.12.2012.

First year students have actively participated in Science Fair - ‘Acharyya Satyendranath Basu Smarak Bijnan o Prajukti Mela 2013’, organized by Pashchimbanga Bijnan Mancha at Hedua during January 30 – February 03, 2013.

    STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENTS 
  • B.Sc. Part-III Examination, 2012
    No. of candidates appeared: 16
    No. of candidates securing 1st Class: 16
     
  •  Priyanka Samanta, Inessa Banerjee, Bhagyasree Barua, Jyoti Nandi, Anindita Mandal and Amrita Das (all of 2012 batch) have qualified JAM and admitted to different IITs (Priyanka and Inessa in IIT Guwahati, Bhagyasree in IIT Kharagpur, and Jyoti, Anindita and Amrita in IIT Hyderabad) in 2012.
     
  • Bandhan Saha (2010 batch) qualified CSIR (Rank 16) in NET, held in December, 2012 and also GATE (Rank 3) in 2013.
     
  • Rumana Parveen and Deepanjana Adak of 2010 batch qualified in GATE in 2012.
    Rumana also qualified NET in December, 2012.
    Both of them are pursuing research work at IIT Kharagpur.
     
  • Lopa Paul of 2010 batch qualified in IISc Entrance Examination and started research work.
     
  • Karabi Nath (2011 batch) qualified CSIR (Rank 8) in NET, held in December, 2012 and also GATE (Rank 16) in 2013.
     
  • Pallabita Basu (2011 batch) qualified NET in December, 2012.
